In a recent interview with 1UP, Cliffy B answered some community questions which confirmed that Gears 3 won’t be featuring Theater Mode and the online screenshot capture feature which made an appearance in Gears of War 2.



When quipped about Theater Mode making a comeback in Gears 3, Cliffy was quick to respond -

“Nah, we’re not doing a theater mode. I think it’s one of those things that’s really great for the super hardcore but unfortunately, with the timeframe, with all the features we have, it’s one of those things that’s going to slip through the cracks unfortunately.”

Further, when asked if players can still take photos like in Gears 2, he responded -

“I don’t think we have [the screenshot mode] right now,” Bleszinski tells 1UP. “It’s a funny thing; those are features that are very cool, and you look at the numbers, and a very small percentage of gamers user them. It’s nice to have if you can get it in there; it’s just that the reality right now is that it’s probably not going to happen.”
