Vidya Balan's 'Kahaani' not a 'Kill Bill'

Ever since Vidya Balan’s Kahaani was announced, it has been impossible for the film’s makers to shrug off rumours that the film is a remake of Kill Bill. There has been a buzz going around suggesting that the film’s action will be along similar lines, and even that Vidya Balan will don a gear similar to Uma Thurman’s, kick butt and splash blood all over while swearing revenge.

“Just like Kill Bill, Kahaani too is about a woman scorned who is now out to get revenge. And like Uma, Vidya Balan too is playing a pregnant woman here,” reveals an industry source. “Since director Sujoy Ghosh had declared that Kahaani is high on action, it’s not too tough to connect the dots.” However, quiz Sujoy about this, and the director isn’t amused. “From where do you hear such imaginative stories? Just because you have a pregnant woman seeking revenge doesn’t mean one is remaking Kill Bill,” says Sujoy from Kolkata where he is currently supervising the post production of Kahaani, adding that as compared to Kill Bill, Kahaani will feature Vidya Balan being shown as pregnant for a much longer time.

Sujoy reiterates that while the film does have a lot of action scenes, there is no blood shedding and gory sequences featuring Vidya Balan. “There is action, but it’s not even remotely similar to Kill Bill.
