The lead role of a painterhas been played by Aamir Khan himself. Prateik plays the role of Munna, a dhobi. The leading ladies in the film are the characters Shai and Yasmin played by newcomers Monica Dogra and KritiMalhotra respectively. The film is completely based on the social life of characters wherein people slip away from the comforts of familiar moorings as they journey through desire, isolation, love and defeat. Having had its world premiere in September 2010 at the Toronto International Film Festival, the film is scheduled for release in cinemas on 21 January 2011.
